NDC

Also known as: Nationally Determined Contribution, Kontribusi yang Ditetapkan secara Nasional

A country's pledged emissions-reduction target under the Paris Agreement; Indonesia's current NDC targets 31.89% reduction unconditional, 43.20% with international support, by 2030.

NDC — Nationally Determined Contribution — is the climate target each Paris Agreement signatory submits to the UNFCCC, updated every five years on a ratcheting basis. The NDC sets out the country's emissions-reduction commitments, the sectors covered, and the baseline against which reductions are measured.

Indonesia's Enhanced NDC (submitted 2022) targets a 31.89 % reduction in greenhouse-gas emissions by 2030 against a business-as-usual baseline (unconditional, using domestic resources) and 43.20 % with international support. The forest and land-use sector (FOLU) accounts for the largest share of the target, and Indonesia has set out a separate 'FOLU Net Sink 2030' strategy under which the sector becomes net-negative by 2030. NDC achievement underpins Indonesia's eligibility for Article 6 cooperative-approach revenue and frames the domestic carbon-tax design.
