AR-ACM0003 is the CDM consolidated large-scale methodology for Afforestation and Reforestation (A/R) on lands that are not wetlands. It covers the planting and growth of trees on land that was previously bare, grassland, or cropland, with carbon stock changes measured through a combination of remote-sensing and ground plots.
A handful of Indonesian A/R projects registered under AR-ACM0003 during the active CDM era (2007-2020). With CDM winding down — no new registrations after 2024, no new credits beyond the existing pipeline — projects are migrating to Verra's VM0047 (the consolidated VCS A/R methodology) or to PACM under Article 6.4. AR-ACM0003 issuances continue to trade on the secondary CER market but volumes have collapsed since 2020.
