SPE-GRK — Sertifikat Pengurangan Emisi Gas Rumah Kaca, literally 'Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Certificate' — is Indonesia's domestic carbon-credit unit. Each SPE-GRK represents one tonne of CO2-equivalent emission reduction or removal, validated and verified under the SRN-PPI process.
SPE-GRK units are the tradable instrument on the IDXCarbon spot market launched by the Indonesia Stock Exchange in September 2023, and they are also the unit recognised for compliance against the cap-and-trade obligations imposed on Indonesian power-sector emitters. Some SPE-GRK supply originates from voluntary-market projects whose issuances are mirrored from VCS or other international standards into the SRN-PPI registry under the Verra MRA arrangement.
